Mediation:

Mediation is an alternative dispute method where a neutral third party facilitator assists parties in reaching an agreement. Mediation allows self-determination because the parties have control over the final agreement, rather than a resolution imposed by a third party.

Mediation is a confidential process. Although there are certain statutory exceptions, what happens during mediation, stays in mediation. This is to allow parties to speak freely without the concern that something would be held against them in negotiations. There is a greater likelihood that people can reach an agreement if they speak freely.

We are available to mediate disputes prior to the parties filing suit. Sometimes, a pre-suit mediation is more cost-effective than the parties pursuing litigation. We are available to mediate all types of civil disputes.

Arbitration:

Arbitration is a dispute resolution process in which a neutral third party renders a decision after a hearing at which both parties have an opportunity to be heard. Arbitration can be either binding or non-binding. In binding arbitration, the parties agree to be bound by the arbitrator’s decision.

Arbitration is more cost-effective than litigation before a court. Parties can schedule arbitration easier and quicker than a case can be set for trial.
